Learn Guitar Online

Learn Guitar Online

Everyone wants something for nothing, so if you are searching google for learn guitar online, you're likely also using the word free. You probably have discovered, as have I, that you will get exactly what you have paid for. There's little to no guidance, little to no substance, and if you really are a beginner, you will probably figure that trying to learn guitar online is a fruitless endeavor.

Wait! There's good stuff out there, but it's not free, it's just cheap. Think about it, most guitar lessons in my area cost around $20-$25 for a 30 minute session. You'll probably need at least a few months worth to really get going, so probably 20 weekly sessions at $20 a piece. That's a conservative estimate, and still $400. For around $40 or less you can learn guitar online from any one of a number of different sources.

If you're a total beginner, there's a free ebook available written by a teacher named Griff Hamlin. It's just something to get you started, but it's written and illustrated fairly well. There's also plenty of free starter lessons around the internet, just do a google search and you'll find them. I'll post some thoughts about some of the methods I've found to learn guitar online another day.
